This Franz Kessler motor drives the grinding spindle of a high precision roll grinder made by Pomini. Kessler manufactured similar motors for grinders manufactured by Waldrich Siegen, and Herkules.
These motors should be pulled from service every 4-5 years for reconditioning. This will help to prevent catastrophic failure, and lower the overall cost of maintenance.
These sleeve bearing motors are exceptionally difficult to properly service and test. Here are a few of the highlights of the specialized service we offer:
- Factory trained trained technicians.
- Custom built tooling to align the sleeve bearings.
- OEM parts in stock–Glygoyle 22, seals, gaskets, bearings, oil sight glasses, and more.
- Motors are assembled on a granite surface plate for accuracy.
- 8 hour run-in at half speed followed by trim balancing to DIN ISO 2373 class S4/S5.
- 24 hour full speed run-in.
- Complete test documentation including run-in log with bearing temperatures, current draw, and vibration spectrums.
