Third Party Okuma Servo Motor Repair
You may be aware that Okuma America does not offer servo motor repair. Although we operate independently of Okuma, they are one of our customers. We have invested extensively in creative rebuild techniques, spare parts inventory, and completely rebuilt motors. Thus, no other company offers better service and support for Okuma spindle and servo motors than Endeavor.
Repairing Your Okuma Spindle Motor or Servo motor
Okuma spindle motors use special radial bearings. These bearings operate at higher speeds and levels of precision than ordinary electric motor bearings. We stock not just OEM bearings but also resolvers, encoders, brakes, terminal blocks, fan motors, and other components.
We also stock complete new shafts to expedite delivery. Okuma spindle motor repair may require replacing the shaft if a bearing has failed catastrophically or if the output shaft is badly worn. The experts in our machining department precision grind all the critical diameters to factory tolerances.
If the motor winding has failed, our winding department rewinds it with class H insulation. This is done while carefully observing the original factory winding specifications. We can also upgrade your built-in motor spindle winding with our Epox-E-Pak insulation system.
Before being assembled, all spindle motors are dynamically balanced . Balancing is a critical aspect of rebuilding any spindle motor. It is just as important to measure and monitor the amount of vibration the motor produces during full speed testing. Learn more about our balancing and vibration testing capabilities.
Okuma servo motor repair often requires rebuilding the magnet rotor. The BL-H and BL-MH series rotors can become de-magnetized, and the BL-MC, BL-MP, and BL-ME series rotor magnets can shatter. Endeavor Technologies offers complete magnet rotor rebuilding for Okuma servo motors. Our approach to rebuilding Okuma magnet rotors results in a more robust rotor that is less likely to fail in the future.
Completely Tested
To achieve the expected life, we assemble motors to Okuma’s demanding accuracy standard. After assembly, your spindle motor or servomotor will be run through a break-in period to full speed. This is necessary to test the vibration levels and to ensure that the grease is properly distributed inside the bearings which prevents overheating. Learn more about our testing procedure.
The absolute encoders used by Okuma on their servomotors are best evaluated using an Okuma CNC and servo controller. Our partner CNC Technical Support offers complete testing of Okuma encoders on their CNC simulators.
Service reports as well as failure reports are available on request.
Support AND Service
No one offers better service and support for Okuma spindle and servo motors because no one else has made the same commitment to test equipment, training, and inventory.
If your Okuma spindle motor or servomotor was “repaired” by a less experienced repair shop and still doesn’t work, or failed pre-maturely, it’s not too late! Send your Okuma spindle motor or servo motor to us for rebuilding and comprehensive testing.
