Endeavor Technologies offers complete repair and rebuilding service for Mori Seiki NL1500, NL2000, and NL2500 live tool spindle motors. Mori Seiki part number TU0000A02 pictured here is available for purchase from our rebuilt / exchange inventory! This is a built-in motor supplied by Mitsubishi to Mori Seiki specifically for the turrets on the NL machines.
Our unique relationship with DMG Mori Seiki USA allows us access to spare parts for the live tool spindle motors that would normally not be available. Our inventory includes includes new shafts, housings, castings, encoders, and bearings.
The NL2000 Live Tool Motor Rebuild Process
We thoroughly evaluate each live tool spindle motor to determine the exact work scope needed to return it to like-new condition. All rebuilds include:
- Careful examination of the guide slot for damage that could cause noise and vibration during rotation of the turret.
- Magnet strength or voltage constant test.
- Dynamic balancing of rotating components.
- New bearings.
- Replacement of all sealing components, and pressure testing of the water jacket.
- Adjustment and testing of the pulse generator or encoder.
- Magnetic pole position verification test.
- Full speed, closed loop, run-in on one of our Mitsubishi CNC test stands
If your live tool spindle motor has a failed winding, it will be rewound and molded in epoxy. Worn shafts, bearing housings, or other mechanical components will be replaced with OEM parts, or refurbished by the skilled personnel in our machine department.
Upgrades Offered
- Epox-E-Pak insulation. This helps ensure your motor won’t develop a ground fault in the event of contamination.
- Positive air pressure–this modification to the original NL live tool motor design helps ensure coolant doesn’t get inside the motor. Additional hardware will need to be added to the machine to take advantage of this upgrade.
